Hi,
Last night I went and bought the fairly recent film about Ayrton Senna. As a fan of Formula 1 and all types of Motorsports I felt it obligatory that I should do so and watch it!
It is a truly sensational and breathtaking film!!! The archive footage is superb and is a really good piece of media and this is because it is a cross between a documentary and a movie! There is no narration on it and the footage has been put together amazingly to make it seem like a movie, think about all that hours of going through videos and clips trying to pick the right bits and pieces. A definite 5/5! Shame it did not pick up more awards than it already has done! For me what made it extra special was that it used videos of someone's actual life thorughout unlike the usual films where they do not and creat the storyline from an actual life story and put actors into place, which was unheard of to me!
Now I must admit that by the end of it I did have several tears welling up in my eye! For me this was a bit strange. This is because for me it was always Juan Manuel Fangio and Michael Schumacher who were my all time greats of Formula 1 no one else and most certainly never Ayrton Senna, as I always felt that he was always overrated, I was so wrong!
Schumacher and Fangio are great drivers and for me watching them they are sensational, brilliant, breathtaking
and intelligent but when watching the Ayrton Senna movie I realised that Schumacher and Fangio and all the other F1 champions were sensational, brilliant, breathtaking and intelligent occasionaly at a given time and at a certain point in their careers, look at Schumacher now for instance good but not as good as he used to be. Whilst Senna was sensational , brilliant, intelligent, breathtaking, adventurous and much more, on every single occasion not just at a given time or at a certain point, he was all that throughout his 10 year career.
To cut the story short Ayrton Senna totally and completely deserves the accolade of "The Greatest Racing Driver That Ever Live"- by far!!! Hence my Ayrton Senna tribute page which you can find in the Formula 1 section under Motorsport! We can all use Ayrton Senna as a model for dedication, determination, ambition and perfec
Thank You, and Goodnight!
